It’s Getting Better
Life has a way of flowing in nonsensical swirls, it ebbs and spirals and folds back upon itself.
Lessons are brought up, worked through, integrated and then somehow re-appear months, years or decades later.
I (Tina) remember when I was getting divorced, my new boss at work had such similar energy to my ex-husband. I had a knowing that I wasn’t finished learning the lessons of how to relate to that energy, so it was showing up in my life through a different human. This was before my spiritual journey began, and yet I intuitively knew that this is how the universe works - my boss was just the next batter up in the line-up of teachers on my journey.
Now, years later, I couldn’t tell you the details of those lessons but I know they played a profound impact on who I am today. I have encountered countless growth opportunities and the most consistent theme I’ve learned is the more we take the growth in stride, be kind to ourselves through the process, and trust that things are getting better, the less we suffer.
The fact that the growth path is long, spiraled and unrelenting at times can make it feel like we’re not actually getting anywhere. But this is a falsity made up by the mind, created by fear and fed by a desire to remain “in control.” Really, it’s terrifying to think and fully embrace the fact that things are in fact, not under control. Control simply limits possibilities, tightens our muscles, and triggers our nervous system to be in stress, anxiety, and downward spirals.
Trace and I recently took a course called Access Bars. It’s a modality focused on opening our brains and beings up to limitless possibilities. Our wise teacher, Daniel Tuttle, said “when you are in question you are in the energy of source.” In other words, when we are open, asking questions and curious about what may be coming into our lives, we are aligned with Source and can fully receive. One of our favorite questions from Access Consciousness is:
How does it get better than this?
This question can be used when things are amazing and we want to show our gratitude and acknowledgement that things keep getting better. It can also be used when things don’t feel like they’re going our way. No matter when we ask we are showing our willingness to open up, receive, and be a part of the flow.
What do you need in this moment to remember that no matter what aspect of the tide you’re experiencing, it’s all a part of the path?
